Icebreakers and Briefing (10:30 AM - 10:45 AM)
- Icebreakers to kick off the event.
- Brief introduction to the library and programs provided. -
Walk inside the library to the rooftop garden (10:45 AM - 10:55 AM)
- A short walk through the various levels inside the library to the rooftop garden - a downtown oasis.
- Engage participants in English conversation (in soft voices) during the walk. -
Playing games (10:55 AM - 12:25 PM)
- If weather permits, we will sit at the rooftop garden; otherwise, we will find some tables one level down.
- Please bring a pen that day to play the games. -
Wrap-Up and Farewell (12:25 PM - 12:30 PM)
Optional: Those wanting to extend the English conversation session can join VKA volunteer (Winnie) in participating Vancouver Public Library's Murder Mystery Mayhem (https://vpl.bibliocommons.com/events/650b3a10c102fe4100a9df19). Winnie has signed up herself and 5 other "guests". If interested, once you have registered for the English conversation session, please add the "Murder Mystery Mayhem detective game" item before checking out. If all 5 spots are taken, you can try register yourself directly using the link above with Vancouver Public Library, if spaces are still available.

Want to improve your English speaking skills but have nobody to practice with?
Afraid of conversing in English because you are shy or worried about how other people might see you?
Always concerned about grammar or vocabulary and therefore, not confident in making English conversations?
Then you need to come join us at “English Conversation Face-to-Face” on the last Saturday of each month!
“English Conversation Face-to-Face” is a no-judging, no-teaching session where you have plenty of opportunities to speak in English via playing games in small groups. You get to meet other like-minded people wanting to improve their English conversation skills.
All levels of English speaking skills are welcome.
Participants who do not attend the session will be prohibited from joining the next one.
